Ingredients
Glutinous Rice Flour - 500gm
Gula Apong - 500gm
Water - 500gm
Pandan Leaves - few pieces
Banana Leaves - for wrapping
Method
- Boil 500gm water with Pandan Leaves, and slowly pour in 500gm Gula Apong, keep stirring till all ingredients are mixed.
- Once the liquid is boiled, put it aside to cool.
- Clean the Banana Leaves. Be careful while cleaning as the leaves can be easily tear apart.
- Prepare another bowl of boiling water and put in the banana leaves and boil them till dark green in color.
- Cut the banana leaves according to the shape of the mould (can be a stainless steel cup or mould) and wrap the whole mould including the inner part.
- Use rubber band to secure the banana leaves on the mould.
- Sieve 500gm Glutinous Rice Flour.
- Slowly add in some of the Gula Apong liquid into the flour.
- Slowly knead the dough and then slowly add in another half of the Gula Apong liquid.
- Stir till it is smooth and silky.
- Pour into the mould and cover the top of the mould with Aluminium Foil to prevent vapor from dripping into the batter.
- Steam for 3 hour
